Have you just started playing pickleball or are you considering making the switch from padel or tennis? As in any other racket sport, it is extremely important that you know the dimensions of the court well. In fact, knowing the dimensions of the court will help you make the right decisions during the game! Therefore, in this blog post, we will take a closer look at the dimensions of a pickleball court. By the way, this also comes in handy perfectly if you want to build your own field in your backyard!

The dimensions of a pickleball court
Pickleball is played in both singles and doubles on a rectangular field with the following court dimensions:
20ft wide
44ft long
This happens to be the same size as a badminton court in doubles. The pickleball court is divided in two by a low net 36 inches high on the sides and 34 inches in the middle. Each side of the court contains two service boxes and one non-volley zone (also called the Kitchen). Below we have added an illustration to clearly show the main details of a pickleball court.

How do I build a pickleball court?
When building your own pickleball court, you don't necessarily have to start completely from scratch. Existing tennis courts or badminton courts can easily be converted into a pickleball court. Furthermore, you basically only need a net. You might opt to choose a portable one, so that you can also use it in other locations to build a pickleball court. For example, a portable net can be perfectly used in multi-purpose gymnasiums, at the local park, in your backyard or even in your driveway. Most models are also extremely easy to transport and assemble. You can already find a super handy one in our shop! What are you waiting for?
